Welcome Letter

WELCOME EVERYONE!

*    Practices will be held from 5-6am Monday thru Friday starting September 19th, 2011. Practices will be at the Springville Community Pool. I know this is early but it will be worth it!

What We expect from our swimmers-
    *To give 100%
    *To be to every practice
    *To have a positive attitude

Rules-
    *You need to be to practice everyday ON TIME. This means be ready and in the pool by 5am!
    *If you are sick I need a note signed from a Doctor or your parents.
    *No more than 3 absences during the season- for any reason.
    *3 tardys equal 1 absence.
    *You must be to practice the day before a meet and to school the day of a meet or you cannot compete in the meet.
    *You must have a 2.0 GPA from your previous semester and maintain it to be on the team.

The fees for everyone this year are:
    *$40 participation fee
    *$45 players pack fee. The players pack fee will pay for a team swim suit and a team swim cap.
    *Any thing else the swimmers want, i.e. warm-ups, bags, towels, will be paid for by the swimmers.
These fees need to be paid AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to the school.

Swimmers need to have a current health physical.  This everyone needs a physical for the 2011-2012 school year.

For practices the swimmers should have proper equipment. Beginning swimmers need a workout suit, cap (girls), goggles and fins. You should buy a nylon or polyester suit. These should last the whole season while lycra or spandex may not. The more advanced swimmers should have all these plus paddles and a pull buoy. All of this equipment helps the swimmers to improve their stroke as well as build the proper muscles for getting faster! If you need to buy these things the best place to buy them is Poco Loco in Provo. The people there are very helpful and knowledgeable. If you mention that you are with a high school swim team they have package deals that are less expensive.  Also, if you ask for last years swim suit models you can save money.
